This website is just my personal pages and links to those of my family.
Here is more about my professional life.

The Hayes Family:

Since the early 1960s, I've been involved with sports cars and sportscar racing. I've been involved in vintage racing, especially a 1962 Alfa Romeo Spider that is the same car my brother and I raced in the 60s. Now, I'm retired except for enjoying my MiniCooper S Works car in the mountains where we live and occasionally instructing at track events.

Here are my automotive web pages and links to hundreds more.

I'm also been into photography for gazillions of years. Here's a sampling of my work

And here are photos of our new adventures in California!

Karen and I have been married since 1971 and she has also been my business partner for the last 25+ years. She is the managerial type, a perfect compliment to my technical inclination. While I analyze technological developments and turn them into products, she figures out how to manufacture them and get them to the customers!
Like me, Karen has an action hobby - in her case, horses. She owns a paint named "Fiddler".

Karen and I like adventure travel. Here are some links to our travels.

Karen and I started our family at the same time we started Fotec, so our kids grew up with the company! As a result, they have lots of experience with real-world business! Now they are off in college, but we still get work out of them!

Our older son Michael studied industrial design at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit. He is highly skilled in computer art/graphics/animation and designs furniture for his profession. Michael was responsible for drawing the original Lennie and Uncle Ted. Mike is into Kendo and fencing. Here's Mike's company Centreforge.

Our younger son Daniel went to Hampshire College in Amherst, MA, studying computer graphics and animation with an advisor from Pixar. Dan has a condo in Santa Monica and works as a technical associate/programmer at Sony Imageworks. You have probably seen some of his work: The Cronicles of Narnia, Ghost Riders and Spiderman III (April, 2007.) He's into Tai Kwan Do and Kendo, Japanese culture and he has spent two summers in Japan learning Japanese. RIght now, his big interest is racing go-Karts.
