For Sale
Thinning my collections of Alfa Romeo and Italian car memorabilia and books of items that I don't want or need. Mostly car related, collected in my travels around the world. I'll add more stuff over time, as I inventory books, magazines, programs, etc. I have in storage.

| In
1992,
I was at the Paris Auto show and managed to see the
Factory-restored ALFA B.A.T.s on the Bertone stand. I talked
them out of their last poster and a copy of the Bertone 80th
Anniversary booklet. A few years later, I met John Francis
Marsh at Pebble Beach and arranged to order a set of giclee
prints (#3 of 50) of his series of paintings of the BATs
done for Automobile magazine. On a trip when I went to the
AROC meeting at the Beaulieu motor museum, I met a well-known
British model maker who had a 1/43 model of one of the BATs. I
commissioned him to make me a full set. In the meantime, I collected photos of the BATs from the web, saw all 3 again at the Art Center Concours in 2007 (photo right) and Gary Kaberle's BAT 11(On the AFLA 8C chassis) at the 2008 LA Autoshow (picked up a copy of the PR packet later.) Anyway, it's time to divest myself of all this! I'll consider offers around $1500 for the lot. Did
you know Bat 5 was raced at Pebble Beach in 1955? (From
SCCA magazine Sports Car.) |
