Using VDV Academy Teaching Modules
-
VDV Academy offers a number of specialized training curriculum modules
that are designed to be used in programs as appropriate. Some programs
are simple classroom presentations, like the Basic Fiber Optic module,
while others like the Fiber Optic Cable or Testing or Wiring Install
modules are written to allow use as part classroom presentations and
part lab tutorials.
To show the possible course options, we have listed some typical
courses that can be taught with the VDV Academy modules and which
modules can be used in the order that they will normally be given in
the course. All topics, with the exception of the basics, are expected
to be given as classroom introductions and hands-on labs, and even in
the basics, instructors should pass around representative components
(cables, connectors, etc) to familiarize students with the hardware
they will be working with in labs and later in the field.
