We arrived in Lusaka after midnight. When we awoke we found a hotel employee feeding the crocs in the hotel pond. WHAT?
Yep, the hotel kept baby crocodiles in the pond in the hotel atrium and morning feedings were a spectacle.
The morning meal - raw meat.
Here's one right in front of our room.
The handler came over to feed him.
This is how he feeds him - using a long African spear he probably got from one of the curio dealers we saw on our safaris.
Chomp, chomp...
After breakfast, they just relax. We were assured they are removed to a croc farm once they get big. Good idea. Losing hotel guests to the crocs in the pond is bad for business!
